Title: “ACILP - Aging Communities Independent Living Programme”
Description of the Project / Partner sought: Many rural areas are facing an aging demographic. This aligned with a change in traditional family support structures, pressure on social and health budgets, a lack of service provision results in many elderly people being confined to residential care far removed from their exisiting communities. This project will seek to address many of the issues faced by aging individuals in perhiperal rural areas. It will also seek to explore possible innovative solutions to many of the issues through the use of technology. Furthermore it will seek to develop the programme and actions in a way that is sustainable economically and environmentally. The main aim of the programme will be to assist aging rural residents to remain in their own homes and communities for as long as possible through an assited community led care based approach.
