Programme: Europe for Citizens Programme – Strand 2 Town Twinning.
Description of the project: Municipality of Narny, in Italy, is looking for towns/cities/municipalities interested at participating as partner to a proposal to be submitted within Europe for Citizens Programme – Strand 2 Town Twinning (next deadline for submission: 1 March 2016).
The project consists in the participation in a 4 days event inItaly, plus the subscription of a Town Twinning among the involved cities.
The project idea, to be further developed, intends to focus on the Programme Priority “Solidarity in times of crisis” and highlight how the development of solidarity practices in Europe and among EU citizens can occur also through the promotion of cultural heritage and values of the local community, considered as factor of active contrast of the phenomena of marginalization and social exclusion. I.e. to highlight all solidarity practices developed during cultural events in the involved cities (Narni, as an example, has the historical event of “Palio” taking place in May, with the active participating of all associations and volunteering bodies of the territory).
Partner sought: 2 more towns/cities/municipalities from 2 different EU Member States.
