Project Name: Promotion of Youth Mental Health through Awareness, Prevention & Resilience Building by creating Holistic, Multicomponent & Integration Interventions.
Project Description: Make Room is a platform for cultural, intellectual and personal interaction between Europe and India based in Latvia, Italy and India. This project, through exchanges of young people, seeks to improve the emotional and mental well-being of young people by reducing stress factors, improving resistance and promoting a healthy start in life. The goal is to create a truly holistic and integrated approach to care for the mental well-being of children and young people from early adolescence to early adulthood to ensure they have the opportunity to be the best possible.
Project Objectives:
Achieve better mental health and well-being for young people, and especially for vulnerable groups with a comparatively greater risk of mental health problems by:
- Develop the capacity for recovery and social connection through structured interventions.
- Normalize instead of destigmatizing conversations about mental health
- Improve mental health literacy among children, youth and families.
- Develop more responsive and supportive school / educational / influence environments.
- Improve mental health programs and services through inter-urban interrelations and the use of relevant data and places
- Create a trained and empowered adult community to support the mental well-being of children and youth.
- Making available consistent, accessible and accurate information.
- Intervene early and conduct a tool and resources for follow-up care.
- Connect young people with support options that are culturally appropriate.
