Title: Take Action #changemaker in Barcelona - Support in youth programs

Description of the Project:

The area of youth integrates social mentoring programs with migrant teenagers in Barcelona, as well as offers job and language training to unaccompanied minors recently migrated in Barcelona. The volunteer will have a specific focus on ICT and language workshops to those programs. The involvement of a volunteering person in this area would consist on participating from the activities, offering support to the events and activities organized within the mentoring program, as well as taking part of leisure and cultural activities in Barcelona with the unaccompanied minors, having the opportunity to participate from the language classes or assist them in the job training sessions, assisting the professional leading the activity. At the same time, the volunteer person will have the possibility to propose initiatives and activities to carry out with this target group: offering English dynamic sessions or ideating cultural activities around Barcelona.

The organization has rented an apartment for two people in Santa Coloma de Gramanet, 30 minutes from the organization by public transport. The apartment is almost new and has all the necessary services nearby. Apart from the € 150 of pocket money, they will give € 150 to the volunteer for their food support. In total € 300 per month to be delivered the first business day of the month. Local transport will be covered with a quarterly transport pass

Apart from the linguistic training (Spanish and Catalan) that will be carried out in the same organization, all the team training that takes place during their stay will be made available to the volunteers.

Partner Sought:

They seek for highly motivated people with a strong sense of social impact, and interest in social inclusion programs and activities. A consistent knowledge of Spanish will be positively assessed due to the target group that they work with. They seek for participative, open minded and creative people. Open to diversity. Previous experience in social and volunteering projects will be considered but not requested.

Volunteers should come from one of the following countries: Belgium, Austria, Bosnia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Greece, Spain, Finland,, France, Georgia, Netherlands, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Iceland, Portugal, United Kingdom, Sweeden, Slovakia, Poland, Norway, Croatia, Lituania, Latvia.
