The City ofModena, in collaboration with theUniversityofModenaand Reggio Emilia and the Fondazione Collegio San Carlo ofModena, organizes a summer course called “Renzo Imbeni Summer School”, to provide an opportunity of advanced training aimed at Master’s graduate or graduating students on the European Union and its democratic consolidation process.

With this Summer School, the City ofModenawants to honour the memory of Renzo Imbeni, distinguished citizen ofModenaand Vice-President of the European Parliament from 1994 to 2004. Participation in the course is subordinate to selection through the present call for candidates.

The course is reserved to a maximum of 30 participants, of which at least 9 from theUniversityofModenaand Reggio Emilia, and at least 5 non-Italian students.

The 2017 Renzo Imbeni Summer School will focus on: “Rethinking the European Union sixty years after the Treaties of Rome”.

Lectures will be in Italian and/or English. No translation service is provided. The complete course programme is available at www.comune.modena.it/summerschool.

The Summer School takes place under the High Patronage of the European Parliament, the Patronage of the European Commission Representation inItalyand of the Emilia-Romagna Region.

The course is organized in collaboration with the Italian Council of the European Movement, theInstituteofInternational Affairsand theTurinCenterfor Studies on Federalism, and thanks to the financial support of Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio diModena.

 

To be eligible for the selection, candidates must:

1. fill out the official application form;

2. attach a copy of a currently valid identity document;

3. attach a curriculum vitae, exclusively in EU standard format;

4. attach a cover letter (maximum 2,000 characters) to be evaluated by the Scientific Committee.

Failure to submit - or incomplete filling out of - any of the documents listed above will automatically lead to exclusion from the selection procedure.

 

At the end of the course two grants will be awarded for a four-months internship at the European Parliament inBrussels, to take place in the first semester of 2018.
