YOUTH. NETHERLANDS
PROJECT NAME
SELMA - Supporting Employment Live Music Academy
DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT
Idea of the project: To develop proper educational tools and methods to support professionalization of amateur youth music bands, with a special focus on youth with difficult background (marginalized minorities, e.g. Roma, immigrants), especially NEETS– as a kind of social enterprise. The tools will support the work of youth workers, who are not specialists in music industry issues, to deal with such bands.
OBJECTIVES
• to support social inclusion of marginalized youth through employment and self-employment within the creative industries sector (more concrete – rock/pop/traditional music sector);
• to create and test a model of engaging and nurturing the talent of creative, talented individuals who were otherwise considered disenfranchised with particular emphasis on supporting individuals from minority and immigrant origin;
• to develop skills of youth workers to use specialized open education resources in their work with young people with fewer opportunities.
PARTNER SEARCHED
All EU countries are welcome, except Bulgaria, Italy, UK and Hungary, because we already have such partners.
• Youth organizations or centres, who are working with minority or/and immigrant youth and have good potential and experience with NEETs
