Description of the Project:
Arpilleras In Motion Project seeks to create a collective arpillera, a textil technique that represents Europe’s interculturality.
Arpilleras In Motion Project seeks to create a space where young migrants, refugees and people at risk of social exclusion from European countries can meet, dialogue and share their knowledge.
During the stay, the participants will be creating a collective arpillera, a textile technique that will allow them to participate in conversations, express themselves, call out and recognize the barriers in today’s society that will allow them to feel welcomed, treated equally and with the same chances as the rest of us.
They are looking to put together an arpillera that represents Europe’s interculturality. Additionally, they hope it can be used by the other countries that have participated, so the youngsters can show their experiences and raise awareness of the need to built a fairer, more egalitarian, caring and tolerant Europe.
