Title: “To connect local primary school children with their peers across Europe”

Description of the project/Partner sought: This project aims to connect young people with their peers acrossEurope to let them compare aspects of day to day life, likes, dislikes, interests etc. Children will be able to learn about their place in the wider world by exchanging questions and answering questions on topics such as:

  • School (daily routines, subjects, age start school etc.)
  • Activities to do/ places to go in your town
  • Transport (prices, types etc)
  • Environment (recycling, environmentally friendly initiatives)
  • Food
  • Sports and TV

Each participating school/ class will submit questions they want to know about life in other countries. These questions will be collated by Europe Direct Aberdeen and sent out to each participating school who will then answer the questions.

The answers can include photos, drawings and even videos. All submissions will be displayed on a dedicated website and the highlights from each country will feature in a published book. Each school participating will receive hard copies of the booklet along with links to the website and e-book and a certificate for taking part.

Schools will have the opportunity to build upon the project and maintain links with one another following the exchange through E-twinning.

Aims of the Project

  • To connect local primary school children with their peers acrossEurope.
  • To enable young people to compare their day to day lives and where they live with the experiences of other young people inEurope.
  • To instil a sense of pride in their own city/ town where they live as well as promoting a sense of global citizenship.

Important things to note:

Questions and answers can be submitted in English or French or in your native language with an English or French translation.

There are limited spaces per country and schools will be randomly selected for the project.

In order to keep costs low we recommend that schools send us their submissions electronically and we have provided details of how large files can be sent for free to us.

The deadline for schools registering for the project is the 28th February so if you would like to invite schools in your area to take part please get in touch with us ASAP.
